The M State Men’s Basketball team led 31-28 at the half Wednesday night in Austin, but a 49-28 second half carried the Spartans past the top-ranked Riverland Blue Devils, 80-56. The win moves M State into a tie for first place with Riverland in the MCAC Southern Division with 7-1 division records. The win puts the Spartans at 21-2 overall. The loss is the first of the season for the Blue Devils, now 22-1.

Spartan Men Start 6-0 with 95-59 Home Court Win Over Northland

The M State Men’s Basketball team established control early on Tuesday night as they built a 57-26 halftime lead over the Northland Pioneers at the Spartan gym in Fergus Falls. M State went on to post a 95-59 victory, sweeping their season series with the Pioneers. The Spartans continued to shoot the ball well, hitting 53.7% (36-67) of their field goal attempts and making 14-of-29 (48.3%) of their 3-point shots. They also won the rebounding battle 38-32.

M State Men Defeat NDSCS 70-59 for 5th Straight Win

The M State Men’s Basketball team held a slim 26-25 halftime margin over NDSCS on Wednesday night, however, the Spartans owned the second half as they scored 44 points to the Wildcats 34, earning their fifth consecutive win by handing the visitors a 70-59 loss. M State held the Wildcats to 29.9% (20-67) shooting on the night and 18.2% (4-22) on 3-point attempts.

M State held a 48-35 halftime lead in the game.
