Spartan Men Start 6-0 with 95-59 Home Court Win Over Northland
The M State Men’s Basketball team established control early on Tuesday night as they built a 57-26 halftime lead over the Northland Pioneers at the Spartan gym in Fergus Falls. M State went on to post a 95-59 victory, sweeping their season series with the Pioneers. The Spartans continued to shoot the ball well, hitting 53.7% (36-67) of their field goal attempts and making 14-of-29 (48.3%) of their 3-point shots. They also won the rebounding battle 38-32.

Yonis Mohamud led four Spartan players in double figures, scoring 23 points. Javin Tindall added 19 points and 8 rebounds, Mason Muir had 15 points and 8 assists, and Foday Sheriff finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Tyson McArthur snared 8 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and contributed 6 points. Leng Akol chipped in with 7 points off the bench.
The Spartans held Northland to 36.2% (21-58) shooting on the night. The Pioneers only made 1-of-17 from beyond the arc for 5.9%. They were led in scoring by Isaiah Brown with 19 points. Brown also had 11 rebounds for his double-double. Zeke Aime added a dozen points and Etienne Aime had 10.
M State has won six games in a row to start their season. They will play at Sisseton-Wahpeton on Tuesday night.
