Recognizing legendary leadership at M State. 

The M State Legends Hall of Fame recognition program was created to honor distinguished Spartans teams and individuals whose achievements and service have exemplified, developed, encouraged and fostered qualities that enhance the stature of M State.

Inductees are selected by a majority vote of the M State Legends Hall of Fame Committee from nominations submitted by community members. The committee may request additional information about a nominated candidate as part of the review process. Self-nominations are not considered.

The 2000-2001 Spartan Women's Basketball team was inducted into the M State Legends Hall of Fame in 2023. The team won the NJCAA Division III national championship in 2001. Who is eligible?

Nominees must have made meaningful contributions during their time at M State, leaving a positive “footprint” on the college. Typically, nominees have dedicated years of service, either paid or volunteer, and achieved notable accomplishments during their association with M State. They must be of good character, in academically good standing, and fall into one of the following four categories:

• M State alumni (must be at least 10 years removed from last enrollment)
• M State faculty, staff or administration (current or retired)
• Special service to M State Fine Arts
• Special service to M State Athletics
  • For athletic coaches or directors, a minimum of five years must have elapsed since serving the college in that role. Nominees must have demonstrated, and continue to demonstrate, good character and citizenship. Additional considerations include length of service, commitment to student welfare, and outstanding achievements during and after their tenure at the college.
