M State made quick work of Anoka-Ramsey on Friday night as the lady Spartans recorded a 3-0 (25-4, 25-10, 25-14) victory over the Golden Rams.
Kaia Strom (13) and Laci Strom (12) combined for 25 set assists. Kill leaders were Alaina Anderson (8), Anya Maack (7) and Brooke Hovland (6).
Bailey Marty and Emily Condon led the team with 20 digs and 11 digs, respectively. Serving leaders were Marty (21/21, 7 aces), Kaia Strom (12/13, 6 aces), Condon (13/13, 1 ace), and Avery Wanner (14/15, 3 aces).
The M State lady Spartans served 98.6 percent (73/74) for the match, delivering 10 aces as they swept past Century College 25-10, 25-12, 26-24 on Saturday in Fergus Falls.
Emily Condon (14/14, 3 aces, 9 serving points), Bailey Marty (11/11, 2 aces, 7 serving points), Avery Wanner (11/11, 2 aces, 7 serving points), Jayna Gronewold (16/16, 1 ace, 12 serving points) and Alaina Anderson (8/8) were all perfect on the serving line, while Kaia Strom finished 13-for-14 with a pair of aces and 8 serving points.
Brooke Hovland registered a team high 8 kills and hit .300 for the match. Condon had 6 kills, Maack 5 and Strom 5. Strom hit at a .417 clip on the day and Emily Dehler hit .500, recording 4 kills. Maack led the team with 7 solo blocks. Strom distributed 26 set assists.
Dig leaders were Marty with 21, Condon with 13 and Gronewold with 11.
"The team played very consistent and strong this weekend which is why we were able to win both matches in 3 sets," commented M State Head Coach Abby Crowser. "Our serving was tough and offensively we have been doing a good job at being aggressive and smart with where we place the ball. Our focus has really been on everyone doing their part to help their teammates succeed. When we do that, we play very well."
M State (15-4) will travel to Brainerd for a triangular against Hibbing and Central Lakes on Wednesday. The Spartan have now won 8 straight matches.
