Spartan Volleyball Drops 3 of 4 at RCTC Tournament

The M State Lady Spartans went 1-3 at the Rochester Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.  They lost to Rock Valley College 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-15), beat Iowa Lakes CC 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-15), lost to North Iowa Area CC 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-21, 25-23) and lost to Hawkeye CC 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-17).

Leaders vs Rock Valley were Brooke Hovland and Emily Condon with 7 kills each.  Kaia Strom distributed 12 set assists.  Dig leaders were Bailey Marty (21), Condon (10) and Jayna Gronewold (8).  Anya Maack and Emily Dehler each had a solo block.  Ace serves were recorded by Marty, Strom and Darian Booker.

Leaders vs Iowa Lakes CC were Anya Maack (7 kills, 1 solo block, 1 block assist), Jayna Gronewold (6 kills, 12 digs), Kaia Strom (6 kills, 23 set assists, 9 digs, 1 ace serve), Emily Dehler (5 kills), Brooke Hovland (5 kills), Darian Booker (3 ace serves), Bailey Marty (25 digs, 2 ace serves) and Emily Condon (13 digs, 1 ace serve).  April Schridde added 6 digs.

Leaders vs North Iowa Area CC were Anya Maack (10 kills, 3 solo blocks, 1 block assist), Kaia Strom (7 kills, 21 set assists, 11 digs, 2 ace serves), Brooke Hovland (7 kills), Emily Condon (5 kills, 16 digs, 2 solo blocks, 4 ace serves), Bailey Marty (24 digs, 1 ace serve), Jayna Gronewold (10 digs) and April Schridde (12 digs, 1 ace serve).  Emily Dehler recorded 2 solo blocks.

Leaders vs Hawkeye CC were Brooke Hovland (7 kills), Anya Maack (6 kills, 4 solo blocks), Kaia Strom (13 set assists, 12 digs), April Schridde (2 service aces), Bailey Marty (24 digs, 1 service ace), Jayna Gronewold (9 digs, 2 block assists) and Emily Condon (7 digs).

M State will host the Morris JV team on Wednesday at 6:30pm and Western Technical College at noon on Saturday.
