The M State volleyball team traveled to Rochester for a MCAC Southern Division contest against the Yellowjackets on Friday night. The host team recorded a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-14) victory of the lady Spartans.
Kassandra Algarate led the attack with 10 kills and Hannah Ekse added seven kills and 7 blocks. Alexa Mortenson added 3 blocks and Sydney Hovland had a pair of blocks and 26 set assists. Defensively, Taylor Berndt had 23 digs and Algarate added eleven.
The Spartans served 93.3% (56-6) as a team and were led by perfect nights on the line by Algarate (11/11), Lexus Noyes (7/7) and Ekse (6/6). Hovland was 15-for-16 and Berndt 14-for-15.
The Spartans (10-6) will cross the border to face Western Wisconsin Technical College in a noon match on Saturday.
