Spartan Men shoot a third-round team score of 322 which keeps them in 5th position (322-328-322=972)

Results of Round 3 of the 2024 NJCAA Div. III National Golf Championship at Chautauqua Golf Club (Par 72) in Chautauqua, NY.  This is a 4 round championship that concludes on Friday.

Men:
*Spartan Men shoot a third-round team score of 322 which keeps them in 5th position (322-328-322=972).
*Brock Thompson had the low Spartan score of the tournament with a 77.
*Markus Nelson and Charlie Fuder each shot 81. Fuder's round included 2 eagles.
*Sandhills CC shot a 6 under team round of 282 to increase their team lead to 33 shots over Georgia Military College.
*Brady Wentz of Georgia Military College tied the low round of the championship with a 68.
*Daniel Aitken of Sandhills CC is the individual leader with a three-day total of 211 (69-70-72).  He is one shot ahead of his teammate and defending national champion Ben Read (73-69-70=212).

*The third round was delayed two hours due to heavy overnight rainfall.

"Our men played a little better today and put up a very solid score on a course that played long today after all the overnight rain.  I think we have managed the course well and have been steady overall.  Brock Thompson was outstanding today.  It has been fun watching his game mature on a big stage.  Charlie and Markus gave us nice rounds as well.  It was a highlight to see Charlie make two eagles today. We have put ourselves in a spot to finish in the top five. Hopefully, the putts can fall tomorrow to make it our low round of the week.  I'm proud the team the way they are competing against a tremendous field."
