Warriors Complete Double Header Sweep of Spartans with Walk-Off Win
The Ridgewater Warriors hosted the M State Spartans in a MCAC Southern Division Baseball Double Header on Sunday in Willmar with the home team taking both games. The Warriors won the first game, 9-1, and then recorded a 3-2 walk-off win in game two.
Brennan Fictum (7IP, 8H, 1R, 8K, 0BB) was the winning pitcher in the first game, while Ero Lamppa (4IP, 6R, 5ER, 6H, 0K, 2BB) took the loss. Ridgewater piled up 9 hits in the game with Luke Jeseritz going 2-for-3. Nolan Eischens and Evan Zimmer each drove in a pair of runs and Davis Patzer stole two bases. The Warriors were also flawless in the field. John Dent drove in the only M State run and Brody Bose went 3-for-3 at the plate. Carson Bussell added two hits in four at bats.
Joe Liebl (2-4) delivered a base hit to break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two as the Warriors completed the sweep with a walk-off win. Wyatt Swenson and Elliot Domagala drove in the other Ridgewater runs. Dylan Kluis (5.1IP, 5K, 2BB, 4H, 2R) was the winning pitcher and Dent (6IP, 3R, 2ER, 4H, 2K, 2BB) took the loss for M State. Bussell and Halen Jonas each collected two hits to lead the Spartan offense. Dent and Jakob Hansen each knocked in a run.
M State will host Anoka-Ramsey in a double header on Friday in Fergus Falls.
