Marty Earns MCAC Player of the Week
Bailey Marty, M State's libero, claims the MCAC South Defensive Player-of-the-Week award after digging 108 balls and serving seven aces in the Spartans' 13 sets last week.
The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly volleyball awards for the week of September 20-26. These awards are sponsored by the U.S. Marines.
Bailey Marty, sophomore libero for Minnesota State Community and Technical College, claimed this week's South Division Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor. This is the third time this season that Bailey has earned this award. The Chokio, MN native dug 108 balls in 13 sets, averaging 8.30 digs per set. Marty also had 7 service aces last week, and in a win over St. Cloud Technical and Community College, she set a program record by digging 52 balls in the 5-set match. Marty currently leads the nation in digs.
M State - Fergus Falls moved up to #6 in the national rankings, and is now 7-4 overall and 6-1 in the South Division. The Spartans play at Ridgewater College on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
