In a clash of top ranked teams the Spartans volleyball teams fell short against #1 ranked Rochester Yellow Jackets. In a highly anticipated matchup, the Spartans started fast taking the first set 25-15. Unfourtenly they couldn't keep that momentum in the second set as they dropped it 25-17. The third set was the turning point of the match. In a closely contested third set the Yellow Jackets were able to edge out the Spartans 25-22 and use that mometum to take the 3-1 victory by winning the last set 25-13.
Katherine Masley, Hannah Eske and Amzie Aho each had 7 kills for the Spartans. Sydney Hovland dished out 29 assists. Bailey Marty led the team with 26 digs.
M State will finish there homestand Wednesday when they face Mayville State JV. Opening serve is schedule for 6:30pm.
