M State Sophomore Ellia Soydara shoots a 3rd round 81. She holds a two shot lead over Ivy Burnett of DuPage CC

Results of Round 3 of the 2024 NJCAA Div. III National Golf Championship at Chautauqua Golf Club (Par 72) in Chautauqua, NY.  This is a 4 round championship that concludes on Friday.

Women:
*M State Sophomore Ellia Soydara shoots a 3rd round 81. (81-79-81=241)
*With a 3 day total of 241, Soydara holds a two shot lead over Ivy Burnett of DuPage CC (80-82-81= 243) and 3 shots over Haley Cassells of DuPage CC (83-81-80= 244). Cassells shot the low round of the day with an 80.
*Soydara made 2 birdies on the day including a chip in on the 17th hole from off the green.

*The third round was delayed two hours due to heavy overnight rainfall.

M State Head Coach Jason Retzlaff Quotes:
"I thought Ellia did a lot of good things today and she played better than her score indicated. I thought her putting was improved and she continues to manage her game well.  Other than a few tough breaks late in the round, she is close to putting it all together and has put herself in a great position going into the final day.  It will be a blast having her compete in the last group on the final day to compete for the title."

On Friday, the Spartans will tee off in the final round of the championship. Ellia Soydara will tee off at 9:18am Eastern time. The Spartan men will tee off at 9:45am Eastern Time.
