Ellia Soydara shoots 79 to take the lead on Day two of the NJCAA Divsion III Women's golf championship

Results of Round 2 of the 2024 NJCAA Div. III National Golf Championship at Chautauqua Golf Club (Par 72) in Chautauqua, NY. This is a 4 round championship that concludes on Friday.
Women:
*M State Freshman Ellia Soydara shoots a 2nd round 79 that gives her a 2 shot lead with a two day total of 160 (81-79).
*Soydara made 4 birdies on her round, including her first and final holes of the day.
*Ivy Burnett of the College of DuPage is in 2nd position 2 shots behind with a two day 162 (80-82)
*Megan Redig of Rock Valley CC tied Soydara for the low round of the day with a 79. Redig (85-79) and Halley Cassells (83-81) are tied for 3rd four off the lead.

She is close to putting it all together as she did a nice job handling the rainy conditions on the course today. Tomorrow the Spartans will compete in round three of the championship. The Spartan men first tee time is at 9:45am Eastern Time. Ellia Soydara will tee off at 10:57am Eastern Time.
