Ridgewater Starts Fast, Pulls Away for 86-38 Win over Lady Spartans
Ridgewater got off to a fast start and ran away with an 86-38 win over the M State lady Spartans in MCAC Southern Division Women’s Basketball action on Wednesday night in Fergus Falls. The Warriors took advantage of 36 M State turnovers as they improved their season record to 8-11 and their Southern Division mark to 2-1.

Julia Hines poured in a game high 21 points to lead Ridgewater and Madison Norsten added 19. Kelsey Jaeger was also in double figures with 12 points. Rebound leaders were Kyra Jensen with 8, Rochelle Dean with 7 and Norsten with 6. Jensen added 7 assists and 6 steals, while Dean had 6 assists and 5 steals. As a team, the Warriors distributed 22 assists and accumulated 22 steals. They shot 42% (31-74) from the floor and won the rebounding battle, 45-36.
Kaitlyn Olson (18 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals) was a bright spot for M State, and Jailyn Walker dished out 9 assists, came up with 6 steals and pulled down 3 rebounds, while scoring 4 points. The lady Spartans shot 32.6% (15-46) for the game.
M State (7-10, 1-3 MCAC South) will play NDSCS in Wahpeton on Monday at 5:30pm.
