Nationally Ranked Northland Women Handle Lady Spartans
Northland Community and Technical College looked like the second ranked team in the nation in Women’s Division III basketball on Monday night as they handled the M State lady Spartans, 80-32, in Thief River Falls. The lady Pioneers shot 50% (34-68) from the field and capitalized on 34 M State turnovers.

Northland was led by Kenzie Dahl with 26 points. Three players, Jade Reese, Ashlyn Nelson and Jerlyn Lunsetter added 10 points each. Reese added 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and a blocked shot, while Faith Lilly had 5 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals, and Brooklyn Sarauer snared 5 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.
Kaitlyn Olson led M State with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Terri Wind had 5 rebounds and a team high 3 assists, and Kaylee Robinson scored 7 points, while leading the lady Spartans with 3 steals. M State shot just 31.7% (13-41) from the field.
M State (7-9 overall, 1-2 MCAC South) will host Ridgewater at 5:30pm Wednesday in Fergus Falls.
