Anoka-Ramsey Cruises Past Lady Spartans
Anoka-Ramsey Community College took a 22-8 first quarter lead and never looked back as they went on to defeat the M State lady Spartans by the score of 95-39 on Wednesday night in Coon Rapids. The Golden Rams shot 64% (39-61) for the night, making 8-of-20 (40%) 3’s. They also turned 26 M State turnovers into 38 points.

Six members of the Rams reached double digits, led by 18 points from Mariam Alowonie. Jada Lussier scored 17, Destiny Casey and Tereya McDaniel-Vaughn added 14 points each, ShaiAnne Jackson contributed 11 and Charis McKenzie chipped in with 10. Rebound leaders were Alowonie and Casey with 7 apiece. Casey dished out 8 assists and Anisa Longs recorded 7 assists, 5 steals and 8 points.
M State hit only 29.4% (15-51) from the field. They were led by Kaitlyn Olson (15 points, 11 rebounds), Terri Wind (11 points) and Kaylee Robinson (6 assist, 5 rebounds).
M State (7-8) will travel to Thief River Falls on Monday to face Northland Community College.
