Goggleye Scores 25 to Lead Lady Spartans Past Rainy River
The M State lady Spartans turned 31 Minnesota North College - Rainy River turnovers into 36 points as they defeated the Voyageurs on Friday night, 63-24 in Fergus Falls. M State took excellent care of the ball with only 16 turnovers on the night. They shot 37.9% (25-66) from the field and held Rainy River to 13.6% (8-59) shooting.

Kiara Goggleye was the leading scorer with 25 points. She also had 9 steals and 8 rebounds. Kaitlyn Olson contributed in several stat categories, scoring 13 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, dishing out 7 assists, coming up with 4 steals and blocking a pair of shots. Kaylee Robinson finished with 10 points, Taylor Dingwall had a team high 12 rebounds to go along with 7 points and 3 steals, and Terri Wind chipped in with 8 points, 5 steals, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Rainy River was led by Taniya Hamilton with 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Marissa Mills with 7 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
M State closes their pre-Christmas schedule with a record of 4-6. They will resume play when they host the Spartan Classic on Friday, January 2 against Minnesota North College – Itasca, and Saturday, January 3 against Minnesota North College – Vermilion.
