Lady Spartans Win Behind Double-Doubles from Goggleye and Wind
The M State lady Spartans led 41-32 at the half on Friday night and maintained that nine point advantage the rest of the way as they recorded a 76-67 victory over Northern College – Itasca. M State shot the ball well, hitting 49% (26-53) of their field goal attempts, while making 50% (10-20) from beyond the arc. They also made 14-of-20 (70%) of their free throw opportunities.

Kiara Goggleye turned in a solid all-around game, leading the lady Spartans with 25 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Terri Wind (17 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks) also had a double-double, and Taylor Dingwall joined them in double figures with 17 points, while securing 5 rebounds. Kaitlyn Olson pulled down 10 boards and scored 9 points and Kaylee Robinson added 6 points, 5 assists and 4 steals.
M State held a 44-30 edge on the boards and held Itasca to 34.7% (25-72) shooting on the day, 28% (9-32) from 3-point range. The Vikings were led by Ellee Nelson (17 points, 6 rebounds), Lilia Pemberton (14 points, 4 steals), Taylor Whited (12 points, 5 assists, 5 steals) and Alyizza Roy (12 points, 3 steals). Chloe Nelson was the top rebounder with 9.
M State (2-4) will play Minnesota North College – Rainy River on Saturday afternoon.
