Minnesota North College-Vermilion got off to a fast start on Friday night, taking a 28-13 lead after one quarter. The Ironhawks maintained a lead throughout the night as they recorded a 77-57 victory over the lady Spartans at M State in Fergus Falls.

Minnesota North College-Vermilion got off to a fast start on Friday night, taking a 28-13 lead after one quarter.  The Ironhawks maintained a lead throughout the night as they recorded a 77-57 victory over the lady Spartans at M State in Fergus Falls.

Trinity Bodie had a team high 21 point to lead the visitors and Aleysha Maya dished out 9 assists.  Danita Gonzalez added 10 points and 8 steals, and Tamia Cahee also scored 10 points.  Kye Clater delivered 10 points off the bench.  The Ironhawks shot 49.2% (32-65) from the field.
 
M State excelled on the boards, winning the rebounding battle 51-36.  Kaitlyn Olson grabbed 20 rebounds and completed a double-double by scoring 11 points.  Kiara Goggleye also contributed a double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Taylor Dingwall had 8 points and 10 boards.  Kaylee Robinson scored 14 points.  M State hit just 26.6% (17-64) of their field goal attempts and turned the ball over 38 times.
 
M State will host Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range at 1:00pm Saturday.
