Rochester Women Defeat Lady Spartans for 5th Straight Win
The Rochester Women’s basketball team jumped out to a 10-0 lead on Wednesday night in Fergus Falls and never trailed in their game against the M State lady Spartans, winning 73-36 for their fifth consecutive victory. M State shot just 32.6% (14-43) from the field and turned the ball over 25 times, leading to 28 Rochester points.

The Yellowjackets shot 53.8% (7-13) from 3-point range and made 52.8% (28-53) overall. Macaya Copeland had a game high 22 points and Kara Goetzinger joined her in double figures with 12 points. Allana Bates dished out 7 assists and scored 9 points off the bench. Goetzinger led the Yellowjackets with 6 rebounds.
M State held a slim 26-25 edge on the boards. Madi Foss had 10 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals, and Felicity LeBlanc finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Kharmon Wells dished out 5 assists.
The lady Spartans will close out their season with a road game at St. Cloud on Saturday at 1:00pm.
