Spartan Men Fall to Wildcats at NDSCS
The M State Men’s basketball team fell behind 45-23 at the half on Monday night at NDSCS in Wahpeton, however, the Spartans battled the Wildcats the rest of the way, trailing by just 10 points late in the game before the Wildcats finished with an 87-62 victory. The Spartans were outscored by just 3 points in the second half, 42-39.

The teams had a battle on the boards with each squad grabbing 43 rebounds. M State took excellent care of the ball with only 12 turnovers, however, they shot just 37% (26-70) from the floor and just 27% (7-26) from beyond the arc.
Leaders for M State were James Hamilton (20 points, 13 rebounds), Leng Akol (13 points), Braylon Baldwin (10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists), Mach Mayen (8 points, 6 rebounds) and Carter Clark (6 points, 6 rebounds).
John Angau led four players in double digits with 16 points and Cham Okey contributed 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Luke Christensen finished with 13 points and 4 boards, Christos Gavriilidis came off the bench to score 11, Nidas Paulauskas chipped in with 9 and Jikany Deang had a team leading 12 rebounds.
M State (12-8, 2-3 MCAC South) has a conference home game Wednesday at 7:30pm against St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
