Spartan Men Struggle in Loss at Northland
The M State Men’s basketball team struggled from the get-go on Monday night in Thief River Falls, falling behind 31-13 at the half and losing to the Pioneers by a final score of 59-42. The Spartans shot just 31.5% (17-54) on the night and finished without a scorer in double figures.

James Hamilton (8 points, 7 rebounds), Drew Overby (8 points), Mach Mayen (7 points), Carter Clark (6 points, 3 rebounds) and Braylon Baldwin (4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists) were the statistical leaders for M State.
Northland led the rebounding battle, 41-31, and shot 42.4% (25-59) from the field. They were led by Alex Loomis (22 points, 7 rebounds), Randell Charlin (10 points, 9 rebunds, 7 assists) and Esron Simeon (6 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals). Deng Kuek added 7 points, 4 boards and 3 steals, while Kmar Honore came off the bench to score 8 points.
M State (11-6 overall, 1-3 MCAC South) will host Ridgewater on Wednesday night in Fergus Falls.
