Five Spartans Reach Double Figures in Road Win Over Anoka-Ramsey
The M State Men’s Basketball team had a good shooting night in Coon Rapids on Wednesday as they made 51.6% (32-62) of their field goal attempts on the way to an 89-81 victory over Anoka-Ramsey. Five Spartans reached double digits in scoring, led by James Hamilton with 25 points. Hamilton also had 9 rebounds. M State made 19-of-28 (68%) of their free throws.

Leng Akol (17 points, 9 rebounds), Seth Hamilton (13 points, 5 rebounds), Braylon Baldwin (12 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists) and Mach Mayen (10 points, 6 rebounds) were also in double figures. M State won the rebounding battle, 44-27, grabbing 13 offensive boards in the game.
Stewart Jones led the Golden Rams with 28 points and Preston Thielke registered a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Chisley scored 11 points and Akeem Nelson led the Rams with 4 assists. Anoka-Ramsey shot 41.7% (25-60) from the field and hit 43.3% (13-30) from 3-point range, while making 18-of-26 (69%) free throws.
M State travels to Thief River Falls on Monday night to face Northland Community College.
