Spartan Men Build 15 Point Halftime Lead, Settle for 8 Point Win Over Minnesota West
M State got off to a good start and had a 44-29 halftime advantage against Minnesota West on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays fought back, cutting the Spartan lead to 7 points at one time late in the second half, however, M State held on for the 71-63 win.

The Blue Jays struggled from 3-point range, making only 2-of-25 shots from beyond the arc. They were led by 17 points from Jiekgoy Wiel, 15 from Teddy Collins, Jr., and 11 points, 9 rebounds from Karasharo Ojulo. Jordan Sinclair also had 9 rebounds and Bryan Macario Rios contributed 9 points off the bench.
Leaders for the Spartans were Javin Tindall (18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) and Mikele Kambalo (12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist). Khamani Steckler had 9 points and 10 boards, and Matt Gooselaw made 3-of-4 3-point field goals for his 9 points. M State shot 42% from the field.
The Spartans (12-9, 4-4 MCAC South) move into a tie for fourth place in the conference with the win. The Spartans will travel to Riverland in Austin on Saturday.
