The M State Men's Basketball team fell behind 50-26 at the half and ended up with an 87-54 loss at Rochester on Saturday afternoon. The Yellowjackets shot 45.5% (30-66) from the field and held a commanding 43-29 edge on the boards. They also had 19 assisted baskets on the day. The Spartans struggled, hitting only 31% (22-71) of their field goal attempts.
Leaders for Rochester were Jamison Lien (21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks), Laden Nerison (15 points), Obinna Izoura (13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and Zach Herrman (5 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds).
Mikele Kambalo played all 40 minutes for M State and led them with 24 points. He also had 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Khamani Steckler added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Diamond McGill finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and Belind Alemadi ended up with 7 points.
M State (11-8, 3-3 MCAC South) will host St. Cloud Technical and Community College on Wednesday night.
