In what was considered the game of the week in the MCAC. QB Shannon Patrick and the Pioneers controlled the game from start to finish.

The Spartans offense had a chance early to take control of the game on it's first drive. Marcus Davis lead the Spartans down to the 5 yard line, but couldn't find a way to score. Jordan Foss's kick was blocked to try and take a 3-0 lead. The next three series for the Pioneers ended in touchdowns.

With the half coming to an end with the Spartan down 21-0 backup QB Matt Iovine threw a 65 yard strike to Travion Broadwater for the score. The Spartans decided to go for two but failed. Leaving the score 21-6 Pioneer at the half. The Spartans next score would come late in the game with a Jamar Howard touchdown pass from 40 yards out to Travion Broadwater. Howard run converted the two point conversion to make it a 35-14 Pioneer lead. The Pioneers would score one more time to put them up 42-14.

The Spartans will return home vs NDSCS for it's Homecoming game September 30th.
