Spartans Lose Two in Willmar
The M State baseball team traveled to Willmar on Friday where they lost a pair of MCAC Southern Division games to the Ridgewater Warriors, falling 7-6 in the opener and losing 16-1 in the nightcap. The Spartans were down 7-0 in the fifth inning of game one, but battled back with 6 runs in the sixth inning, coming up just short in the comeback attempts.

Game one leaders at the plate for M State were Dain Schroeder (1-3, 2B, 2RBI, R), Carson Bevill (1-1, 2B, RBI), Dalton Heater (1-3, BB, SB, RBI R) and Carson Bussell (1-4, RBI, R).
Elliot Domagala (2-4, 2RBI, 2R), Garrett Kelly (2-3, RBI), Jayce Olthoff (2-3, 2 2B, SB, 2R) and Mason Macziewski (1-3, RBI, R) were the hitting leaders for Ridgewater.
Game two was over in 5 innings as Dominic Rose earned the win, scattering 6 hits and allowing just one run. He struck out 3 batters and issued one walk. Blake Morris (3-4, 4RBI, 3R, SB), Joe Liebl (2-2, 2 2B, BB, 2RBI, R), Kael Nelson (1-1, BB, 3RBI, R), Mason Macziewski (1-2, 2B, BB, 2RBI, R), Elliot Domagala (2-2, 2BB, RBI, 3R), Andrew Prieve (2-4, 2R), Max Athmann (1-3, 2B, 2RBI, R) and Garrett Kelley (1-3, BB, SB, RBI, 2R) led the way offensively for the Warriors.
M State pitcher Cayden Doven drove in the only Spartan run with a sacrifice fly, scoring Dain Schroeder. Dalton Heater had a pair of singles in 3 at bats. Evan Lunde, Brendon Kent, Tyson Barthel and Carson Bevill each added a base hit.
Ridgewater will travel to Fergus Falls on Saturday for a double header which begins at noon.
