Spartan Baseball Team Falls to Moraine Valley
Tyson Barthel delivered a 2-run single to give M State a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Wednesday against the Moraine Valley Cyclones, however, things went downhill from there as the Spartans wound up taking a beating and losing 17-2 as they continued their Florida trip. A 7-run eighth-inning broke the game open.

A 7-run eighth-inning broke the game open.
Maddox Reta (6IP, 6H, 2R, 3K, 0BB) was the winning pitcher for Moraine Valley and Hunter Holtti (5IP, 7R, 2ER, 7H, 4K, 1BB) took the loss for M State.
Dalton Heater had a pair of hits in three at bats for the Spartans. Alejandro Munoz led Moraine Valley with a 3-for-5 day at the plate. The Cyclones had a total of 14 hits on the day.
M State will play SUNY Niagara on Thursday.
