Neuerburg Competes at NJCAA DIII National Championship: Results
M State’s Amara Neuerburg (Wadena High School) represented the Spartans at the women’s national championship, finishing 20th overall in a field of 33 golfers. Neuerburg posted a four-day total of 410, turning in rounds of 106, 102, 99, and 103.
CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. (June 2–5) — The NJCAA Division III Women's and Men's Golf Championships concluded at Chautauqua Golf Course, with standout individual efforts and dominant team performances highlighting the four-day event.
M State's Amara Neuerburg (Wadena High School) represented the Spartans at the women's national championship, finishing 20th overall in a field of 33 golfers. Neuerburg posted a four-day total of 410, turning in rounds of 106, 102, 99, and 103.
"It was a great week and experience for Amara!" said M State head coach Jason Retzlaff. "While the greens were very tough, she had a lot of great shots and stretches of golf throughout the week. She represented M State extremely well with her play and sportsmanship, and it was great that her dedication led to a national tournament appearance. This experience will certainly help her grow as a player as we look forward to her returning for her sophomore season."
In the women's team competition, College of DuPage captured the national championship with a consistent four-round total of 1420 (350-364-351-355).
The individual women's title went to Amelia Dunseth of Rock Valley College, who finished with a winning score of 309 (82-76-71-80).
On the men's side, Sandhills Community College continued its dominance by securing its sixth consecutive national championship, finishing with a four-day total of 1156 (294-287-287-288).
Leading the way individually was Sandhills' Sebastian Haug, who claimed medalist honors with an impressive 4-under-par total of 284 (74-69-70-71).
