M State was led by Sheyenne Gunderson (18 set assists, 11 digs, 2 ace serves), Lindsey Dierks (12 digs, 7 kills, 1 ace), Claire Mathiesen (12 digs, 1 ace), Kassandra Algarate (7 kills), Mackenzie Swanson (7 kills, 2 blocks), Katie Merrick (2 blocks) and Ashlyn Hendrickson (2 blocks).
"We had high hopes going into the Regional Tournament, but unfortunately, we just didn't perform to our capability tonight," said head volleyball coach Abby Crowser. "Consistency is key in the overall success of a team and we just really struggled in that area this season. Despite some obstacles, we still were able to make some notable achievements. With an overall record of 17-11, conference record of 10-5 and being ranked as high as #4 in the nation at one point, there is plenty to be proud of. I'm so thankful to my four sophomores, Lindsey Dierks, Morgan Lider, Claire Mathiesen and Mackenzie Swanson for their hard work, dedication and leadership both on and off the court these past 2 years. With several freshman returning next year and the goal of gaining some talented local players, the Spartan volleyball team is looking forward to continuing to build a strong program."
