A week that started with a huge road win against nationally ranked Ridgewater ended with a 3-1 (25-15, 18-25, 25-17, 25-18) home court victory over Riverland on Saturday afternoon in Fergus Falls as the M State lady Spartans made it three consecutive match wins for the week.
"It was great to cap off the week with a win against Riverland," said head volleyball coach Abby Crowser. "Having three games this week and going to five sets in two of them, the team was tired, and to be able to push through and finish with 3 wins for the week is a good feeling. We know we still have a lot of work ahead of us to continue strong the rest of the season. Improving upon our consistency is still on the top of our list, but we are definitely heading in the right direction."
Sheyenne Gunderson distributed 41 set assists and was a perfect 15-for-15 serving with 2 aces to lead M State.
Other leaders for M State were Lindsey Dierks (16/17 serving, 2 aces, 17 digs, 10 kills), Claire Mathiesen (16/16 serving, 14 digs), Lexus Noyes (12/12 serving, 1 ace, 8 digs), Mackenzie Swansoon (21 kills, 7 digs, 14/16 serving, 3 aces), Katie Merrick (8 kills) and Kennedy Hartwell (10 digs).
M State (9-6) will host St. Cloud Technical College at 6:30pm Wednesday in Fergus Falls.
