Lady Spartans Win against Cyclones

The M State Women's Basketball team hit 47% (29-62) of their field goal attempts and made 21-of-36 free throws in their 83-65 win over St. Cloud Community and Technical College on Wednesday night in Fergus Falls. The lady Spartans forced 27 turnovers by the Cyclones.

She also had 3 assists and 3 steals.

"We did a much better job today taking care of the ball and we were able to force some turnovers for easy points," said Head Coach Janice Hendrickson of the lady Spartans. "We relied heavily on defensive pressure down the stretch to finish the game. I was happy with our ability to get to the free throw line and our balanced contributions. We have some things to work on before facing a solid Rochester team on Saturday at home."

Shania Nahring. Rachel Vreeland and Kiara Coops had 11 points each and Abbie Wuertz was also in double digits with ten points. The Cyclones made 44% (25-57) of their field goal attempts, including 8-of-21 (38%) from 3-point range.

M State is now 8-9 on the season and 2-2 against MCAC Southern Division teams. They will host Rochester on Saturday at 1:00pm.
