"We played a very physical game against Minnesota West and overall I though we played good basketball," said head Coach Janice Hendrickson, "however, we gave them too many offensive rebounds and easy points in the paint. We were outsized on the inside and were unable to rely on our team defense to get stops. We need to do a better job executing our offense for the whole game. We had too many one shot possessions. If we can continue to build on our performance, we have a great chance at qualifying for the region tournament."
The lady Spartans shot 39% (25-64) from the floor and made 42% (8-19) of their 3-point attempts. Macky Warne and Taylin Schleicher each scored 19 points. Samantha Lupkes added 15 points and Kassandra Algarate contributed 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Claire Mathiesen grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out a team high 4 assists.
