Kassandra Algarate had a monster game with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Algarate made 9-of-16 shots from the floor, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range. Taylin Schleicher (15 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists), Ashlee Ripmila (13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists) and Samantha Lupkes (12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists) also recorded double doubles.
M State shot 49% (30-61) from the field and held a 49-40 edge on the boards. Itasca hit just 26.4% (21-74) of their shots.
"This was another full team effort with an outstanding second half," said M State Head Coach Janice Hendrickson. "We had everyone contribute on the defensive end and got stops when we needed them. The girls executed our game plan and made the halftime adjustments we needed to finish strong. This is the way we needed to end our preseason games prior to starting division play on Wednesday against Ridgewater."
Maya Schroeder led the lady Vikings with 25 points. Ashley Anderson and Ciana Roberts were also in double digits with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
