M State shot 30.4% (17-56) from the field, making only 2-of-16 treys. They were led by Taylin Schleicher (12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists), Claire Mathiesen (9 rebounds), Samantha Lupkes (8 points, 4 rebounds) and Kassandra Algarate (7 points, 8 rebounds).
Central Lakes had three players in double figures, led by Tanisha Beetso with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Sam Schimpp added 11 points and 7 boards, and Aleia Lupa had 11 points and four rebounds.
"We had a very good first half, but came out of half-time with no energy," said Head Coach Janice Hendrickson of the lady Spartans. "It carried over in to our offense and we made poor shot choices which contributed to our very low shooting percentage. With a game tomorrow, we need to forget about this performance and come ready to play."
M State will play Rainy River at noon on Saturday in Brainerd.
