Spartan Golfers Take Second At Valley City Invite

The Spartan men's golf team participated in the Valley City Invite against two other 4-year programs.  The Spartans finished the triangular in 2nd place.  Host Valley City won the invite with a team score of 312. The Spartan men's golfers shot a 328 for the day.  Leading the way for the Spartans was Grant Inniger who shot a 81.  Wyatt Blomseth and Carter Justesen were right behind him with a 82 for the day. Tanner Schnathorst of Valley City State was the medalist with a 73.

One the women's side, Carley Baumann was the Spartans lone competitor.  She scored a 107 for the day.

Head Coach Jason Retzlaff had this to say about the triangular.  "We didn't play well today but the conditions were very difficult with the cold and wet conditions.  It has been a great opportunity to play against many four year colleges throughout the fall season and we think that will serve us well in the long run.  We hope our best golf is still in us for Monday and Tuesday in Lake City."

The Spartans will next compete in the Region XIII/National Qualifier on Monday and Tuesday at The Jewel in Lake City.
