The Spartans offensive was clicking on Wednesday night. Alex Hendricks was red hot as he nailed a season high nine three pointers. The sharp shooting Spartans drained 15 from beyond the arc as a team. The hot shooting wasn't enough to put away Anoka - Ramsey as the Spartans eventually fell 99-89. The game remained tied through the first half as the Spartans were only down two at halftime. The host came out in the second half and went on a big run to open the second half but the Spartans charged back to bring the game within 4 with two minutes left. With the loss the Spartans are now 8-14 overall and 2-7 against MCAC Southern Division teams.
The Spartans shot 57% from the field and 44% from behind the arc. Alex Hendricks season high 30 points led the Spartans. Nic Pearson put in 16 points and Renell Edwards added 14 off the bench. Zakaria Zaid pulled down 8 rebounds.
The Spartans ended their road trip and will return home on Saturday to face Riverland Community College. Opening tip is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
