M State Basketball Takes Down Central Lakes

The Spartan basketball team kicked off the CLC Classic in impressive fashion.  The men came on on fire and were able to build a 17 point lead going into halftime.  The second half was similar to the first as the men were able to cruise the rest of the way as they hit the century mark winning 101-78. The win brings their record to 2-2. 

The Spartans shot 52% from the field and 56% from behind the arc.  Five Spartans were able to score double digits.  Alex Hendricks led the team with 19 points follow by James Hobson, Alend Alemadi, and Renell Edwards with 18. Nic Pearson finished with 13 points. Alemadi led the team in rebounding with 7.  Hobson and Edwards each dished out 5 assists. 

The Spartans will play Lake Superior College in the 2nd game of the CLC Classic on Saturday.
