Twenty-eight turnovers and 37% (20-54) hurt the M State Men's Basketball team on Friday night as they opened their home season with a 74-55 loss to Central Lakes.
The Raiders held a 42-36 edge on the boards, made 20-of-28 free throws and shot 42.6% (23-54) from the field. Chris Buckley led Central Lakes with 15 points and Al-Jureau Ray added 10 points. TJ Kornbaum had a team high 7 rebounds.
The Spartans were led by TJ Martin with 16 points and 3 assists. Martin LaFond and Samuel Priem had 8 points apiece. Rebound leaders were Austin Miller with 8 and Aaron Solberg with 7. Miller added 3 assists and 3 steals.
M State is off until Tuesday, November 27 when they host Northland Community and Technical College at 7:30pm.
