Chris Tungseth poured in 26 points to lead the Spartan Men's Basketball team to a 70-56 win over Western Wisconsin Tech on Wednesday night in Fergus Falls. Tungseth connected on 6-of-15 treys and added 8 rebounds.
Samuel Priem hit 5-of-9 3's, scoring 17 points, and Austin Miller added 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Aaron Solberg pulled down 14 rebounds for M State and point guard Isaiah Lemke dished out 7 assists. Joel Harris III Came off the bench and scored 9 points.
The Spartans shot 36.5% (23-63) of their field goal attempts, 14-of-35 (40%) on three-pointers and made all ten of their free throws.
"Great team win thanks to our defense and taking care of the basketball on offense," said Spartan Head Coach Shawn Sorenson. "It was very important for us to get a win on our home court and build confidence as we prepare for the final stretch of our season."
Western Wisconsin Tech shot 37.5% (24-64) and led the rebounding battle 46-35. They were led by Joshua Brownlee (21 points, 5 rebounds), Justen Kidd (12 points, 5 rebounds) and Henry Berry (8 points, 8 rebounds). Andrew Scott led the team with 11 rebounds and Alex Tecker had a team high 3 assists.
M State (11-13, 5-6 MCAC South) will travel to Rochester for a game on Saturday.
