The M State Men's Basketball team buried 13-of-29 (44.8%) 3-pointers on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Western Wisconsin Tech 93-64 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Spartans shot 50.8% (32-63) overall and made 16-of-21 free throws (76.2%).
Austin Miller connected on 11-of-18 field goal attempts and led M State with 28 points and 6 assists. Chris Tungseth had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds, while dishing out 4 assists. Joel Harris III had 14 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds and Samuel Priem finished with 10 points. Aaron Solberg added 9 points and 8 rebounds.
The Cavaliers shot 37.8% (28/74) from the field and hit 41.7% (5-12) of their three-pointers. The home team held a slim 44-42 edge on the boards.
M State had only eight turnovers in the game and assisted on 20 of 32 made baskets.
"Defense was the focus and the guys responded by forcing tough shots all night," commented Spartan Head Coach Shawn Sorenson. "We go an early lead with three point shooting and it was a balanced effort in the second half. We won this one for Isaiah Lemke who was home sick."
