The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team shot 54% (34-63) from the field, making 15-of-26 (57.7%) three point shots on the way to an 85-70 victory over M State on Wednesday night in Coon Rapids. The spartans hit only 41.3% (26-63) of their field goal attempts, going 12-for-33 (36.4%) from 3-point range.
"We struggled to contest 3's in the second half and once they built a lead they took advantage by slowing the game down and going inside," said Spartan Head Coach Shawn Sorenson. "They also increased second half pressure on our shooters so it was tougher to get open looks for us."
Chris Morgan had the hot hand for the Rams, scoring 30 points on 13-of-19 shooting, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Kevin Schramm had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Justin Castro added 9 points and 9 assists, Malik El-Amin had 8 points and 6 assists, and Elijah Linear scored ten points off the bench. Anoka-Ramsey won the battle of the boards 38-25.
Chris Tungseth led the Spartans with 26 points on 9-of-20 shooting, making 6-of-13 from beyond the arc. Samuel Priem had 17 points and Austin Miller added 13 points. Isaiah Lemke had a team high 5 assists and Aaron Solberg blocked four shots and had 9 rebounds.
M State will travel to LaCrosse, Wisconsin on Saturday to face Western Tech.
