The M State Men's Basketball team recorded a 76-71 victory at Fond du lac Tribal and Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans led 37-33 at the half, shot 43% from the floor, hitting 50% of their 3-point shots, and won the rebounding battle 42-35.
"This was a close game from start to finish with both teams trading leads late in the second half," said M State Head Coach Shawn Sorenson. "Clutch 3-point shooting helped us fight back to tie and eventually take the lead. The four players who led us in scoring all hit big shots when it mattered most and helped us win the rebounding battle as well."
Fond du Lac was led by Dwayne Saunders and Jessie Ellerbe with 18 and 15 points, respectively.
M State will host Northland Community College on Tuesday night in their final home action before Christmas.
