The M State Men’s Basketball team ended their season with a 72-59 loss to St. Cloud Technical and Community College on Saturday in Fergus Falls. The Cyclones took a 36-31 halftime lead and outscored the Spartans 36-28 over the final twenty minutes.
The M State and Minnesota West Men’s Basketball teams battled through twelve lead changes and eight ties on Wednesday night in Worthington before the Bluejays were able to secure a 94-92 overtime victory over the Spartans.
The M State Men’s Basketball team shot 48.4% (30-61) from the field, making 50% (7-14) of their 3-point attempts and sinking 14-of-17 (82.4%) free throws in their 88-66 win over St. Cloud Technical and Community College on Wednesday night in St. Cloud.
The Riverland Blue Devils shot 45% (30-67) from the field and outscored the Spartans 15-4 on the free throw line Saturday as they defeated M State 76-65 in a MCAC Southern Division contest in Austin. M State hit just 36% (23-64) of their field goal attempts on the day.
The Rochester Men’s Basketball team took a 46-27 halftime lead on the way to an 87-60 MCAC Southern Division victory over M State on Wednesday night in Fergus Falls. Rochester, ranked ninth in the NJCAA Division III National poll, improved their season record to 16-2 with the win.
The M State Men’s Basketball team came from a 36-30 halftime deficit to force overtime on Saturday afternoon against Minnesota West. The Spartans outscored the Bluejays 53-47 in the second half to tie them at 83-83 at the end of regulation. Minnesota West won the game 93-88 with a 10-5 advantage in the extra period.
The M State Men’s Basketball team traveled to Willmar for their MCAC Southern Division opener against the Ridgewater Warriors on Wednesday night. M State led 45-40 at the half and went on to take an 84-77 victory.
The M State Men's Basketball team completed a weekend sweep of games at their Spartan Classic with an 83-62 victory over Itasca on Saturday afternoon in Fergus Falls. M State held a slim 25-24 halftime lead but outscored the Vikings 58-38 over the final twenty minutes to complete the sweep.
The M State Men's Basketball team ended their pre-Christmas schedule with an 82-64 loss to Rainy River on the second day of the Central Lakes Classic in Brainerd on Saturday afternoon. Rainy River led 39-31 at the half.
After a couple of tough to take buzzer beater losses earlier this season the Spartan Men's Basketball team handed first year head coach Shawn Sorenson his first victory when they defeated Itasca Community College 87-65 on Tuesday night in Grand Rapids.
