Wildcats Rushing Attack To Much For Spartans

The Spartan football team hosted North Dakota School of Science on Saturday.   The Wildcats jumped on the Spartans early taking a 14-0 lead after the 1st Quarter and never looked back.  A big and experienced offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage as the Wildcats cruised to a 51-0 victory.  The lose knocks the Spartans to 0-6 on the season.

The Spartans defense was led by standout Ken McKay again as he tailed 9 tackles.  Andy Nelson was right behind him with 8 tackles.   Kyangelo Robinson recovered a fumble for the lone takeaway for the Spartans. Milkaso Dedefo, Devon Salaam, and Elijah Neal each tallied a TFL.

Offensively the Spartans were unable to put any points on the board but QB Kenny McKay did provide some highlights.  McKay finished the game with 68 yards rushing and 48 yards passing.

Head Coach Cory Miller thoughts on the game were.  "This game was very disappointing.  We got dominated in all three phases of the game.  This hopefully will provide an awaking to what it takes to play a physical college football team.  They were big across both lines and we did not respond well when they came across the line at us.  We will see what type of character this team has by the response we have over the next two weeks."

The Spartans will be off this week and will return to action on October 12th as they travel to play Dakota College in Bottineau, ND.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
