Spartan Baseball Goes 1-3 against Bismarck State

Game 1:
Big 3rd Inning propels Spartans to 6-4 win over BSC
Homeruns by Jake Dykhoff and Devin Bush was just what the Spartans needed as they cruised to a 6-4 win over BSC on Friday night in game one of the four game set. Levi Arnold game the Spartans a great start on the mound going 5 innings, scattering seven hits and 3 runs while striking out 2 on his way to his second win of the season. Skylar Mursu earned his second save of the year with 2 innings of relief work. The Spartans didn't commit an error in the field for a great all-around performance by the Spartans.
Game 2:
Spartan Bats Silenced in Game 2
The Spartan bats went silent in game two on Friday night. Leadoff hitter and catcher Cody Arlt hit a leadoff homerun in what would prove to be the only Spartan run of the game. Nick Endersby took the loss for the Spartans going 1.1 innings allowing 6 hits and eight runs, he falls to 1-1 on the season. Mitch Porter and Chandler Gramm pitched in relief for the Spartans over the last 2.2 innings. 
Game 3:
Errors Plague Spartans in Loss to BSC
The Spartans rallied for 5 runs in the 5th inning but their rally was cut short by good pitching from BSC. Matt Pietch, Devin Bush and Kain Carlson paced the Spartan offense with 2 hits apiece. Ryan Schmitz and Matt Hagen each added a double for the 8 total hits for the Spartans. Jake Dykhoff took his first loss of the season on the hill with 3 innings of work giving up 7 runs off 8 hits while striking out 5, he moves to 2-1 on the year. Austin Stanislawski and Jake Steinle both pitched 2 innings of relief work in this game. The Spartan defense committed 7 errors in the game.
Game 4
Late Rally Falls Short for Spartans 
The Spartans Rallied for 2 runs in the 4th inning to make it 4-3, but that was as close as they would get to knocking off the Mystics as they fall, 7-3. Matt Pietch had an RBI double in the first inning and Rory Drewes had a 2 RBI double in the 4th to pace the Spartan Offense. Devin Bush and Ryan Schmitz also had hits for the Spartans. Eric Slaveson took the loss on the hill for the Spartans as he falls to 1-2 on the year. Slaveson gave up 7 runs off 6 hits while striking out 5 in his 6 innings of work. Chandler Gramm pitched a scoreless 7th while striking out 1.
