M-State and Ridgewater College played a tight game back and forth game in the second half of the doubleheader on Wednesday. M-State Spartans took an early lead in the second inning on an Andrew Dahl grounded out, scoring one run. M-State scored six runs in the fifth inning on a double by Alex Hexum, a single by Jay Zimmerman, and a single by Travis Krueger. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Ridgewater tied things up at eight on an error by the Spartans defense. The game was tied at eight with Ridgewater batting in the bottom of the sixth when Josh Tinklenberg singled off of Jarrett Werner, driving in two runs. Jared Affield started the game for M-State. He threw three innings, allowing five runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking one. Jarrett Werner took the loss for M-State. He went two innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, striking out two, and walking one. Zimmerman, Krueger, and Hexum each drove in two runs to lead M-State Spartans .

Wednesday's doubleheader started off strong for the Spartans scoring three run early on in the game started by an rbi double by Tyler Anderson. Later on M-State scored three more runs in the fifth inning on a single by Travis Krueger and an error by Ridgewater but key errors late in the game cost the Spartans in a 9-8 loss. M-State collected 11 hits with Krueger, Bradsteen, Hexum, and Anderson each collecting two hits apiece.
