The game was tied at three with St. Cloud Tech CC batting in the top of the eighth when #43 singled off of Zach Thunselle, driving in two runs.
St. Cloud Tech CC captured the lead in the first inning on a double in the first inning. The Spartans answered back with a run in the bottom half of the inning on a single by Tyler Anderson that scored Mike Boutain. St. Cloud Tech CC scored again in the top of the fourth, but M-State answered yet again with one of their own when Jared Affield singled into right field, driving in one run. In extra innings timely hitting gave the Cyclones the lead and the Spartans couldn't answer back losing the game 8-3. Alex Hexum started the game for M-State tossing seven innings, giving up five runs, eight hits, and striking out two.

M-State Spartans watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a lop-sided loss to St. Cloud.
