Ridgewater College captured the lead in the second inning scoring one run on a single with two outs. Ridgewater went on to score four more runs in the fourth inning. Travis Krueger took the loss for the Spartans. He pitched four innings, giving up six runs, eight hits, striking out four, and walking one. Andrew Dahl and Zach Thunselle each drove in one run to lead Spartans but M-State couldn't come back in their 7-3 loss.
In the second game of the double header the Spartans and Ridgewater passed the lead back-and-forth. M-State scored four runs in the second inning scoring on an error and a single by Jakob Bradsteen. The game was tied at four with Ridgewater College batting in the top of the fifth when the Warriors singled off of Tyler Anderson, driving in the go ahead run. The Spartans would fall 7-4. Bradsteen and Hexum each managed two hits to lead M-State. The Spartans didn't commit a single error in the field.
The final two games of the weekend came against Northland CC. In the first game Northland captured the lead in the first inning on a sac fly that scored one run. Pitching was strong on both sides with only one earned run given up in the first game. Jared Affield pitched 7 innings, one earned run, six hits, five strikeouts, and two walks. Jakob Bradsteen went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead M-State Spartans in hits but M-State couldn't muster a comeback and lost 3-0.
In the last game of the weekend M-State took an early lead in the first inning on Travis Krueger's sac fly scoring one run. The Spartans took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Alex Hexum earned the win for M-State tossing seven innings, giving up two runs, scattering ten hits, and striking out one. Offensively the Spartans had nine hits in the game. Jakob Bradsteen and Hexum each collected two hits to lead the team. M-State didn't commit a single error in the field helping take home a 6-2 victory.
